Improving Video Resolution by Image Mosaics

Video resolution can be improved when a group of corresponding frames from two or three videos are registered, which are taken by two or three camcorders with fixed focus length and position. An efficient algorithm for constructing high quality video from videos is proposed. In order to reduce registration errors, we apply a gradient descent algorithm to the matching images, which results in an optimally registered image mosaic. To improve the efficiency of video mosaics, a flag-transform technique with flag-frame is presented. Keywords—Flag-Frame, Flag–Transform, image mosaics, image registration.
